Pieter-Jan Peeters makes monumental paper assemblies of portret drawings in bister and pastel pencil. For this exhibition he was inspired by the landscape surrounding the Muze'um L where the light meridian cuts through the fields. The idea was to bring the landscape and the history inside. He portrays the green border of light and time as an amorphous contraction of boulders and portraits of soldiers from several wars. The sculpture that measures a good eight meters long and one and a half meters wide, is hanging in space as if it is a lifted trench. Strangled in a time joint, the soldiers slide next to eachother. Close to one another, as if the world outside is getting too small.
